Barry Norman presents a four part celebration of the life and work of pioneering actor Sidney Poitier, one of the first actors to defy racial stereotypes and give black actors mainstream credibility in the West. From his early life in poverty on Cat Island to award winning films such as 'Lillies of the Field' and 'In The heat of the Night', Poitier and those who with whom he worked discuss his life and journey in film.
