This week sees the recording of Alan Stafford’s latest radio play, Hoffnung: Drawn to Music, which follows the preparation for the Hoffnung Music Festival - the first large-scale humorous symphonic concert ever to be mounted.
Matt Lucas (Little Britain, Shooting Stars) will play tuba-loving Gerard Hoffnung who manages to convince serious musicians to support his concert.
He is supported by a stellar cast including Gina McKee (Our Friends in the North, Notting Hill), Felicity Montagu (I’m Alan Partidge, Bridget Jones’ Dairy), Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill, Mansfield Park) and Nicholas Jones (Little Dorrit, Vera Drake)
Hoffnung comes to Radio 4 later in the year!
